Congratulations to the 39 Year 4-8 girls who competed in the Western Zone Cross Country held at Karori Park on the 9th of June. All of the girls gave the races their all and never gave up even in the wet and slippery conditions, many ending up with top 20 placings. The girls were extremely supportive of each other, waiting in the rain at the finish line to cheer on their fellow Marsden girls. Particular congratulations to Lila Cory (Year 5), Chelsea Summers (Year 6), Tilly Dassanyake (Year 6), Ruby Barton (Year 7), Maddy Coyle (Year 7) & Lucy Hegan (Year 8 – came 1st in her race!) who came in the top 10 in their race so qualified for the Interzones.

Interzones was then held a week later at Martin Luckie Park in Berhampore. Again the girls all ran extremely well against a really strong pack of Wellington runners. A big well done to all 6 of them, and Ruby & Lucy who both finished in the top 10 will be representing Marsden at the Regional Cross Country to be held on the 30th of June.
