Samantha Lloyd-Evans, a student in year 11, was presented her TDK Black Belt in the middle of June. She earnt this over the weekend of the 5th and 6th of May. For Samantha to gain her black belt she was examined on her performance during the following exercises:
-a four hour training session
-four different patterns, plus general patterns from colour belts
-step sparing
-free sparing
-four different destructions (breaking boards)
-self defence against multiple different attackers
-comprehensive fitness test, including 2.4k run (in hour nine and ten of day one)
-written exam (in English and Korean)
-interview with Masters
-overall assessment on attitude and spirit
She is pictured with her father who gained his third Dan in the same weekend.
