Marsden Takes Netball Top Honours at Junior Winter Pent

Earlier this week, a group of 38 enthusiastic Year 8–10 students travelled to Iona College in Havelock North to take part in the annual Junior Winter Pentangular Tournament. Competing in Hockey, Netball, and Football against teams from St Matthew’s, Nga Tawa, Woodford House, and Iona, Marsden students demonstrated skill, teamwork, and spirit across two full days of play.

Each Marsden team played four games during the tournament, with all students giving their best in every match. In the final standings, Marsden placed 4th overall, but the real highlight came from our Netball team, who triumphed once again - winning the competition for the 11th consecutive year!

In recognition of individual excellence and sportsmanship, MVPs were awarded for each Marsden team:

  • Hockey - Maddie

  • Football - Emily

  • Netball - Daisy

We’re incredibly proud of all the students for the way they represented Marsden both on and off the field. A heartfelt thank you goes to the staff and parents who supported the teams, helping to make this rewarding experience possible.
